A Major Strategic Milestone in Distributed Clean Energy
LGI has acquired two Queensland solar farms, securing a 100% operating interest in both sites. Chinchilla accounts for 14.7MW(ac) / 19.9 MW(p) of the combined 42MW(ac) / 54MW(p) of NEM-connected solar power generation capacity added to LGI’s portfolio, with Brigalo accounting for the remaining 27.3 MW(ac) / 34.5 MW(p).
This acquisition significantly expands LGI’s renewable generation base and strengthens its position in utility-scale solar.

Smart NEM Integration via DACS
As inverter-based assets connected directly to regional distribution networks, Chinchilla fits logically alongside LGI’s expanding fleet of distribution-scale power generation and storage assets. LGI will deploy its proprietary Dynamic Asset Control System (DACS) across the solar farm to automate dispatch, capture intraday pricing opportunities, and protect asset value through smart financial curtailment during negative spot price events.
Unlocking Hybrid Energy Synergies
Acquired well below greenfield replacement cost, this proven operational solar farm complements LGI’s core 24/7 dispatchable landfill biogas generation. Beyond immediate low-cost generation, LGI is actively evaluating opportunities for co-located Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) hybridisation. Combining low-cost solar, continuous biogas power and fast-dispatch batteries under DACS control allows LGI to continue building out firm, reliable energy where local networks need it most.
