Lithgow landfill gas project cuts emissions
Lithgow City Council has reduced carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions by 7,491 tonnes and captured more than 789,000 cubic metres of harmful biogas in just two months, delivering early results from a landfill gas initiative.
The reduction is equivalent to planting 125,000 seedlings for the next decade, highlighting the immediate environmental impact of the project at the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility.
