Council gets A+ for cutting C02 emissions

A carbon-cutting partnership between Gympie Regional Council and LGI Limited (LGI) is delivering extraordinary results for the environment and the local community.

To date, the collaboration has allowed Gympie Regional Council to reduce its CO2 emissions by 90,000 tonnes, which is the equivalent of planting 1.5 million seedlings for the next decade, or removing 5,000 cars off the road for a year.

LGI’s Australian developed technology recovers biogas from landfill, reduces methane emissions, delivers sizeable environmental benefits and allows leading councils to achieve lofty emissions targets.
